No it's not a fairy tale character! The stag beetle is one of the largest beetles in Europe. The stag beetle is found in Belgium and the Netherlands, but is very rare there. You can recognize the male stag beetle by their giant jaws that resemble the antlers of a deer, hence their name. The jaws are unsuitable for biting and only serve to impress.
Making the beetle is a precise and delicate task. The body is made of black cardboard. The wings are made of unique metallic paper to mimic a shimmering effect.
You can mount this impressive Stag Beetle on your wall or you could let this beetle shine on your desk, shelf or table.
It takes about 15 minutes to assemble the Stag Beetle.
